The following audio (3 + minutes) of Eric Johnson captures an overview of how diverse groups as described below are served through Adult Life Inc.
For those who have left the church...
Over the past decades adults have been leaving the church for many reasons. People have been hurt, discouraged, or disillusioned. Through relationships, we come along side those who have left the church and help in rebuilding pathways to faith.
For those who have lost their way....
In 2014, the Pew Research found that just in 7 years span the percentage of adults who describe themselves as Christians has dropped from 78.4% to 70.6%. Over the same period, the percentage of Americans who are religiously unaffiliated - describing themselves as aethist, agnostics, or 'nothing in particular' - has jumped more than 6 percentage points (from 16.1% to 22.8%).
Listening for the first time...
Since many adults have not been attending churches for the past decades, they have not heard the gospel in a way they can understand. As Bob Dylan has written "everybody has to serve somebody", we believe that the opportunity is ripe to introduce people to genuine bibilical faith.
Leading others...
Our mission seeks to relationally extend God's grace to all adults; helping them to explore and mature in their faith. Spiritual maturity involves the priviledge and responsibility of leading others. We seek to help others to become leaders right where they are planted.
